Therapeutic Interventions

At Pathfinders Childcare we are always looking at improving our services in order to deliver a higher quality of care to the young people we look after, as well as providing outstanding professional care packages to the local authorities who place with us.

With this in mind  we have successfully secured the services of a well-established and extremely experienced local therapeutic service to significantly enhance the therapeutic interventions which we already provide for our young people.

This service will be provided by ‘Lightbulb Psychology’ whose company Director is Dr Margaret Bullock, Charted Psychologist- BA(Hons); PGCE; MSc; D.Ed.Psy; C. Psychol; AFBPsS; ACHiPPP.
Dr Bullock has over 12 years’ experience of working with children and young people in her professional field.

Lightbulb Psychology have had experience of delivering and co-ordinating therapeutic interventions that address social, emotional and behaviour issues, including challenging and antisocial behaviour, children experiencing family difficulties or who are Looked After, school non-attendance, attachment/relationship difficulties, bullying and mental health issues associated with these including anxiety, depression and self-harming.

They also have experience of working with young people who have presenting behaviours associated with diagnoses of Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Asperger’s Syndrome, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Conduct Disorder and learning difficulties.
They are committed to working in a collaborative, solution oriented approach to therapy.
Some of the specific interventions that they can provide include Play Therapy, Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Child Psychology and Educational Psychology.

Due to the nature of the professional associations that they have, they are able to refer to more intensive therapeutic interventions if a young person requires it.

We believe that this is a very exciting opportunity which will allow for bespoke individual therapy packages to be tailor made to meet the individual needs of young people living at Pathfinders and the budgets of placing local authorities.
