People who have worked with us have said

“I have been offering consultation to Cheryl and her team and I have been offering various methods and strategies to meet the needs of a very complex young person. I can say that I am very impressed with how the team have responded to the Psychological and Emotional guidance and how they have managed change and adversity. All team members have a very child-centred approach and shown willingness and motivation to achieve a high level of care to a very complex young person who poses a high level of risk to themselves and others. I would have no hesitation in recommending that particular provision to other professionals in the future”.

“Thank you so much for what you have done, you have given my little boy just what he needed and I can’t thank you enough. You have shown him the way in which I couldn’t. Thank You”

“The staff at the home have been brilliant with my daughter, she has achieved so much and has been so successful. Staff have always been supportive to her and our family and nothing is ever too much. The relationship between my daughter and her key worker is outstanding and this has helped her to achieve so much. The home is always clean and tidy and I feel very welcome when I visit.

What the Kids say

‘The staff are awesome.’

‘This is the longest time I have ever lived in a children’s home because it is the best place I have ever been. I have never lived anywhere like this before. It is different to all the other homes because staff really care. They don’t judge me and try to make up for the sad times. It’s more like a home than a placement’.

‘I really enjoy living here and I am doing the best I have ever done. I didn’t think anyone could help me but staff are brilliant. They really care and have helped me loads.’

‘There is nothing bad about the home. Staff could not do anymore. They sort you when you need help. It’s not about the wage slip and staff go that extra mile because they have our best interests at heart.’

‘I get really good support from staff. I can talk to them when I am feeling down and they have helped me a lot. Everything has changed because of them and the self-harming seems stupid now.’

Young people benefit from well-planned care which is highly personalised to their individual and specific needs. The manager and staff are extremely skilled at making and sustaining positive attachments that enhance young people’s trust, self-worth and confidence. They show an unconditional commitment to young people, providing them with a caring and nurturing environment that enables them to find stability in their often chaotic lives.

The extremely positive relationships which exist between young people and staff and between staff, families and professionals, assist young people with their behaviour and emotional well-being. This promotes positive outcomes for young people living in the home and has resulted in young people returning to live with their family.

Staff provide young people with a very high quality of care that enables them to make outstanding progress in their lives. Professionals report very positively about the home and how it works collaboratively and effectively with external agencies and professionals to ensure young people receive the services and support they need. One social worker said, ‘The home pulls everything together by working well with all agencies. It is all positive and I am really impressed with the levels of support (name) has been given’.

Staff have high aspirations for young people and are proud of how well they are doing. They place the well-being of young people at the centre of everything they do. This is confirmed by professionals who speak highly of the way staff care for young people and the progress they make as a result.

Staff plan for young people’s care and accommodation very well. One young person has left the home since the last inspection, successfully returning home after completing their G.C.S.E courses. Referrals are meticulously assessed, giving serious consideration to whether the needs of the individual can be met without impacting negatively on the care of young people living at the home.

Young people’s individual and cultural needs are very well supported and celebrated in the home by other young people and the staff team. For example, young people have individual Qur’an lessons and attend the local mosque. The staff and other young people have recently celebrated Eid together. A social worker commented, ‘the staff have gone above and beyond to make sure that X’s cultural needs are met.
